    Become a high-yield seed nursery

    WORKSHOP OUTLINE

    This workshop is for entrepreneurial farmers who are interested in moving into the production of high-yield seeds. FarmBiz Africa’s sister company Research Tree Africa, which specialises in agricultural research, opens with insights into researching the market opportunities for different seed options, providing a research check-list. The workshop then covers the high-yield opportunity from KALRO, explaining how business people and farmers can identify and get high yield seeds that have been developed, but are not yet being propagated or commercialized.

    KePHIS then explains the process from obtaining new seed to becoming a producer of certified seeds, while FarmBiz lines up free marketing support for farmers who succeed in moving into high-yield seed production.

    • Will know where to source expertise on seed production methods
    • Will be informed on the free marketing support from FarmBiz for high-yield ventures

    MONITORING AND FEEDBACK

    To measure the success or failure of the training program, its impact, and how it can be improved, questionnaires will be given out at the end of the session. After three months, another questionnaire will be issued to measure changes in knowledge and assess the impact of the program.
